Download Guide for Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5
Greetings, Adventurers.
As announced in our recent [Black Desert Console Service Update video], Black Desert Console will become exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 starting June 26.
After the service transition, you will need to install the new version compatible with your device to continue playing Black Desert Console. The new version will be available for download and installation following the scheduled maintenance on June 26, 2025.
To ensure a smoother and more stable transition, partial pre-download will be available in advance.

※ How to install?
If you own Black Desert on Xbox One X, Xbox One S or PlayStation 4, you can install the new version by searching in each platform’s store.

- Xbox: Search for "Black Desert" and download the Series X|S version.
- PlayStation: Search for "Black Desert" and download the Black Desert – PlayStation 5 Upgrade Install Pack.

- The Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions will be playable after regular maintenance on June 26, 2025.
- After partial pre-download, you will be able to access the game by downloading the latest update following the scheduled maintenance on June 26, 2025.
- Dates may change depending on platform certification status. We will provide further notice if there are any updates.
- Please note that the initial installation requires a large amount of storage space, so the download may take a while. We recommend allowing ample time for both download and installation.
- Once you’ve finished downloading Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 version and the June 26 update patch, you can delete the previous Xbox One X, Xbox One S or PlayStation 4 versions, as they are no longer needed.
- When downloading the Black Desert – PlayStation 5 Upgrade Install Pack, a price may be displayed, but you will not be charged (If you already own Black Desert on PlayStation 4, you can download it at no additional cost).

When and how can I start playing Black Desert on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5?
Both versions become playable after the maintenance on June 26, 2025. As of that same maintenance, the Xbox One X, Xbox One S & PlayStation 4 versions will be retired—you'll no longer be able to play on those consoles.
To play Black Desert on Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5, install the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version from your platform's store, then download and apply the June 26 update patch.
Do I need to repurchase if I already own Black Desert on Xbox One X, Xbox One S or PlayStation 4?
No. If you've already played on Xbox One X, Xbox One S or PlayStation 4, you can download the Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 version for free, with no additional purchase.
I haven’t played Black Desert on Xbox One X, Xbox One S or PlayStation 4.
How can I play the Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 version?
Adventurers starting Black Desert for the first time on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5
can access the game by purchasing and installing an edition that includes game access
from the platform store after the scheduled maintenance on June 26, 2025.
I own the Prestige Edition (disc).
Can I use it on Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5?
Yes. If you have the Prestige Edition (disc), you can continue your adventure on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 at no extra cost. Insert your Prestige Edition disc into the new console and then download the next-gen version from the store.
● Platform Achievements & Playtime
What happens to my Xbox One X, Xbox One S achievements, PlayStation 4 trophies, and playtime?
Sadly, achievements earned on Xbox One X, Xbox One S, trophies earned on PlayStation 4, and your cumulative playtime will not carry over to the Series X|S & PS5 versions.
(In-game achievements and "Family" playtime tracked within Black Desert itself will remain intact.)
We know it's disappointing to leave your old trophies behind, but a fresh set of challenges and trophies awaits.
● In-Game Data
When PlayStation 4/Xbox One support ends, what happens to my game data?
All of your game data, purchases, Pearls and account data will be fully preserved even after support ends for Xbox One X, Xbox One S & PlayStation 4.
When you log in on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5, you can pick up right where you left off.
What about the paid items I bought before?
Pearl Boxes, editions, and any other paid items you own will carry over and be available on the Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 versions.
