Today's update brings Elvia Calpheon, Great Ocean quests improvements, and more.
We hope these help you embark on better adventures in game!

Calpheon Elvia Realm

The Elvia Calpheon has now been added to Black Desert Console.
You can expect to encounter Hadum-infested Saunil, Rhutum, Giants, Hexe, and Trolls in Elvia Calpheon zones.
Centered around the ""Elvia Distortion Phenomenon"" gimmick in the Rift of Despair, unique gimmicks can be found in each Monster Zone, so we hope that adventurers will enjoy diverse and dynamic battles.
Furthermore, in Elvia Calpheon, you can acquire the new Godr-Ayed Weapon and ingredients needed for weapon exchange and enhancement, as well as items needed for Alchemy Stone upgrades.
We hope this will become a challenging element that allows you to enjoy new adventures.
  • Hadum, the God of Despair, who spread her corruption upon Serendia, has raised the cursed Black Sun bursting with destructive energies over the skies of Calpheon.
    • With Calpheon corrupted by the Elvia, its ecology has begun to distort.
    • Saunil Camp, Rhutum Outstation, Gehaku Plain, Hexe Sanctuary, and Quint Hill have fallen to the corruption, as Hadum-infested monsters now appear in these zones.
    • During combat, the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon can occur in Elvia Calpheon, which will alter the weather and affect which Shadow of Nightmares monster will spawn.
    • You can loot materials for exchanging/enhancing the Godr-Ayed weapon and upgrading alchemy stones in Elvia Calpheon.
    • You can loot the "Ancient Spirit Light" item from monsters, and upon purifying Rifts of Despair with it will grant you a powerful buff.

The Elvia Distortion Phenomenon

  • "Rifts of Despair" have begun to tear open throughout Elvia Calpheon, causing occurrences of the so-called "Elvia Distortion Phenomenon" wherever they appear.
  • Defeating monsters near a "Rift of Despair" has a low chance to cause the "Elvia Distortion Phenomenon" to occur.
  • The "Elvia Distortion Phenomenon" will spawn a powerful boss monster and change the weather.
    • If lightning begins to strike, Gigagord will appear with its minions.
    • If icy winds begin to blow, a Cyclops boss monster will appear.
    • If a meteor falls from the sky, an Ogre boss monster will appear.
    • The Elvia Distortion Phenomenon occurs around the Rift of Despair. The Rift of Despair can be found in all Monster Zones in Elvia Calpheon.
    • When you defeat a Boss Monster that appears in the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon, there is a chance to obtain a Black Distortion Earring.
  • When the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon occurs, defeating the following monsters will apply damage and DP reduction debuffs to the Elvia Calpheon boss monsters.
    • Saunil Camp: Saunil Siege Captain, Saunil Commander, Saunil Siege Tower
    • Rhutum Outstation: Glorious Rhutums, Rhutum Tower, Grand Rhutum Chief
    • Primal Giant Post: Giant Fighter, Gehaku
    • Hexe Sanctuary: Green Orc Skeleton Warrior, Skeleton Witmirth, Hexe Marie
    • Quint Hill: Ancient Troll
  • Defeat the bosses of the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon to receive the "Corrupting Darkness" buff and "Remnants of Darkness" debuff.
    • Corrupting Darkness: Significantly increases damage dealt to Elvia Calpheon monsters (for 5 minutes)
    • Remnants of Darkness: Cannot obtain the Corrupting Darkness buff with this debuff (lasts for 30 minutes)
  • Added four entries to the "Elvia's Shadow" Ecology Knowledge for Elvia Calpheon.
    • Defeat the following Shadows of Nightmares from the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon to obtain Ecology Knowledge entries.
    • Kitskala, Calestra, Charpene, Gigagord

Ancient Spirit Light

  • Defeating monsters in Elvia Calpheon has a low chance to drop the "Ancient Spirit Light" item, which can be used to purify Rifts of Despair\.
    • Using the Ancient Spirit Light near a Rift of Despair will grant the "Blessing of the Ancient Spirits" buff, which greatly increases your damage for 5 minutes.
      • Blessing of the Ancient Spirits: Significantly increases damage dealt to Elvia Calpheon monsters during the buff duration
    • The Ancient Spirit Light item will last for 6 hours once looted and will disappear once the duration is over.
    • Using the Ancient Spirit Light without a Rift of Despair nearby will not grant any buff.
    • The Corrupting Darkness buff cannot stack with the Blessing of the Ancient Spirits.
    • Spirit's Blessing buff from the Ancient Spirit cannot be applied if you have the Corrupting Darkness buff.

Defeat Hadum-infested Saunils and their seige towers that attempt to take down the flags of Calpheon.

When you defeat the Saunil Siege Towers, enraged Saunil soldiers will rush in to attack you and the Calpheonian soldiers.

When the Enraged Saunils have been defeated, there's a chance to encounter the Speedy Saunil Commander and the Sharp Saunil Siege Captain.

Defeat all the enraged Saunils to obtain a buff near the Calpheon flag that greatly increases damage.

Rhutum Outstation 280 AP

Once all the Glorious Rhutums protecting the Rhutum Flag are eliminated, Rhutum warriors will swarm in to defend their territory.

Defeat all the Rhutum warriors, then they will retreat. Destroy the supply boxes left behind by setting them on fire to get your loot.

Destroy the three Rhutum watchtowers installed near the Rhutum flags to summon the Rhutum Wizard. It will cast a barrier on an area that reduces damage taken from monsters for Adventurers that are inside.

The Grand Rhutum Chief appears according to a set probability when you defeat Rhutums.

Gehaku Plain 290 AP

When you defeat the Giants, the World-weary Souls will appear.
They gather and build up their resentment, and once enough, Ravening Giants will rush in to steal souls.

From this point onward, the Giants will become stronger as more souls are gathered. While you continue to defeat the Giants rushing in, the Giant Fighter will eventually appear.

You can get a buff from the freed Giant Fighter’s soul. Killing the Giant Fighter also has a low probability of making Gehaku appear.

Hexe Sanctuary 300 AP

The dead in the area have started to attack adventurers, commanded by the loud shouts of the Howling Dead Green Orc Skeleton Warrior.

When you defeat the beings in the area, they leave a ""Soul of the Dead"" on the spot where they fell. Then the Soul Harvester Skeleton Witmirth comes to reap them.

Once the Soul Harvester Skeleton Witmirth harvests enough ""Souls of the Dead,"" it will crave the soul of a living Adventurer and attack them.

Defeating the soul harvester will cause the souls it reaped to come bursting forth and summon more of the dead.

The Unstable Soul Green Orc Skeleton Warrior that appears at this time will explode when defeated, causing massive damage to the surrounding dead.

Once enough deathly energy has gathered, Hexe Marie creates Hexe Marie’s Domain. All the soldiers in Hexe Marie’s Domain will melt down and give rise to the Soulless Skeleton Warrior. Once enough deathly energy has gathered, Hexe Marie will appear herself to explode the soul of Skeleton Witmirth.


The Skeleton Witmirth will then lose its physical form and start to call in the dead.

Hexe Marie will then command the Skeletons near her to sacrifice themselves. The explosions will cause massive damage to the other skeletons and Adventurers in the vicinity.

When you defeat the Trolls protecting the Ancient Troll, the Ancient Troll breaks out of its stone form.

Ancient Trolls have stored life within them for a long period of time. This gives them the one-time ability to recover their HP when they come close to death.

When the Ancient Troll revitalizes after a close call with death, the petrified Trolls are also risen from their slumber.

However, the petrified Troll Shamans do not arise due to their life energy being changed. When they get destroyed, the Trolls nearby will get hit by the energy and become petrified and unble to move.

  • Added new materials which drop from all monster zones in Elvia Calpheon.
    • Scorching Sun Shard: material used to craft Scorching Sun Crystal (for exchanging Godr-Ayed weapons) and Scorching Sun Gemstone (for enhancing Godr-Ayed weapons).
    • Crystalized Despair: material used to craft "Blessed Soul Fragment" for upgrading alchemy stones.
    • Corrupted Breath: material processed via Simple Alchemy with "Frenzy Draught" to make "Frenzy Draught of Corruption."
  • Added the "[Elvia] Darkness Upon the Saunil Battlefield" quest which rewards you with a large amount of "Scorching Sun Shards."
    • You can accept the quest from Trina Knights Scout Henley, the Saunil Camp node manager, with a Lv. 60 or higher character on an Elvia server.
    • Complete the quest to receive Scorching Sun Shard x20 as a reward.
    • This quest can be completed once per Family.
  • Added new 15 daily quest and 2 weekly quest to Calpheon Elvia.

Godr-Ayed Weapons / Alchemy Stone Upgrade

  • Added Godr-Ayed main weapons and awakening weapons.
    • You can obtain Godr-Ayed weapons by converting a TET (IV) Blackstar weapon.
    • Godr-Ayed weapons can be registered and purchased at each of its enhancement levels on the Central Market.
    • Godr-Ayed weapons have five enhancement levels. It starts from +0 and go up to PEN (V). (+0 → PRI (I) → DUO (II) → TRI (III) → TET (IV) → PEN (V) )
      • Godr-Ayed weapons do not drop an enhancement level when failing PRI (I) → DUO (II) enhancement attempts.
    • The materials required to convert and enhance Godr-Ayed weapons drop as loot in Elvia Calpheon.
  • Added the means to convert PEN (V) Blackstar weapons and PEN (V) Godr-Ayed weapons.

Godr-Ayed Weapon Conversion

  • Added a quest where you can convert TET (IV) Blackstar Main, Awakening and Sub weapons into Godr-Ayed weapons.
    • You can accept this quest from the Black Spirit by having a TET (IV) Blackstar main weapons and awakening weapons in your Inventory.
    • You can then proceed with the quest via Merindora, the Eldest Spirit in the capital city of Grána. You will need to hand over "Scorching Sun Crystal" and a TET (IV) Blackstar weapon to get a sealed Godr-Ayed weapon.
      • "Scorching Sun Crystals" can be made by gathering "Scorching Sun Shards" that drop in Elvia Calpheon as loot.
      • Item Copy and branding will be removed from the Blackstar weapon used to convert to a Godr-Ayed weapon.
      • Additionally, Blackstar weapons copied via Item Copy system cannot be used in the quest to convert into Godr-Ayed weapons."

Godr-Ayed Weapon Enhancement

  • Added "Scorching Sun Gemstones" that are used to enhance Godr-Ayed weapons.
    • Scorching Sun Gemstones can be made by Heating Scorching Sun Shards (which drops as loot in Elvia Calpheon) with Flawless Magical Black Stones.

New Addition and Improvements
Character
We've changed how all Speed Reduction debuffs work. Now when applied in PvP, all Speed Reduction debuffs 1) cannot be stacked if applied from skill use, 2) but can be stacked if one debuff is from skill use and the other from a skill add-on. As a result, Speed Reduction debuffs will be capped at a maximum of 60% (50% from skills, 10% from skill add-ons). Due to how disruptive these types of debuffs can be, we had addressed these types in a previous update, but we decided to take a closer look at how these debuffs stack for today.

  • Changed how all Speed Reduction debuffs work.
● It cannot be stacked if applied from skill use.
● It can be stacked if one debuff is from skill use and the other from a skill add-on.
● The debuff with the strongest effects will always take priority.
● If the strongest debuffs are equal in effect, then their duration is next taken into account to determine priority.
 
Sorceress
We've spent a long time adjusting the damage of various Sorceress skills beyond Violation to enhance her PvE efficiency. Despite initial PvE improvements with the Skill Add-on system revamp, the Awakening Sorceress remains less efficient than expected, especially considering the difficulty of her Awakening form, which should offer equivalent rewards. In today's update, we're increasing Violation's damage. However, to promote the use of other skills, its damage during cooldown remains unchanged.
In addition, the Awakening Sorceress previously couldn't sustain combos using only Awakening skills in PvE, even if she was actively using Cartian's Nightmare. The limited PvE skill options, due to PvP-focused skills like Nightmare and Flow: Requiem, also posed a challenge. To address this, we have improved the possible combos and damage of Flow: Vile Plan so that it can be used between skills, which we hope will reduce her reliance on main weapon or enhanced (Rabam) skills in PvE.

However, in this update, we've tweaked the cooldowns so the Prime: Rising Storm - Succession: Rising Storm: Blaze combo can be used more frequently.

We've adjusted the damage of Sah Spree of Sonan upwards to match its longer casting time due to its segmented casting motion. For Moon Storm, we've increased the damage to ensure it deals significant damage at the start of a PvE combo when applying debuffs. We also changed Flow: Pinwheel Fury to now be comboed after other skills, as the skill would have your character appear before the caster to attack when activated, thus making it difficult to aim in the intended direction. To address this inconvenience, we decided to increase its damage so that you can deal considerable damage in any direction upon use.

Striker
The Succession Striker, while lacking Critical Hit Rate buffs from skills like Prime: Crimson Fang, Prime: Somersault, Prime: Roaring Tiger, and Prime: Rage Hammer, could still deal high damage under the Critical Hit Rate buff from Bloody Fang.
However, when initiating a combo, the Striker's priority lies in obtaining the Attack Speed buff from Crouching Wolf immediately upon collecting 3 Martial Spirits. Thus, quite often you'd have to wait after you'd achieved the buff first by using your major skills before attempting to gain the Bloody Fang's Critical Hit Rate buff with 3 Martial Spirits. Therefore, now when you consume 3 Martial Spirits and perform Flow: Prey Hunt, you will gain the Bloody Fang's Critical Hit Rate buff, thereby increasing the means of acquiring this important buff at the combo's start.
Also, the Succession Striker had a narrower attack area compared to Awakening, but the damage didn't match this limitation. Therefore, we plan to increase his PvE damage to better align with his attack area constraints.

For the Succession Hashashin, using large-animation skills to gain effects like DP Decrease and AP Increase was burdensome. To ease this, we've shifted the DP Decrease effect from Prime: Dune Slash to Prime: Purge, and moved the All AP Increase effect from Haladie Throw and Aal's Command to Prime: Dune Slash, simplifying the setup process.
We also reduced the cooldown of Prime: Ridge Reaver for smoother combos with Prime: Purge and Prime: Dune Slash. The cooldown of Beckoned Blade has been aligned with Prime: Descent of the Apostle, enhancing cyclone summons and damage output.
Lastly, we've adjusted Prime: Quicksand's PvE damage to support continuous combos and consistent damage.

Maegu

Green Artisan (Green Thumb) Gathering Mini-game

  • Adjusted the difficulty of the Green Artisan (Green Thumb) gathering mini-game to make it easier to play.
Mini-game Changes
Hoe Gathering - Reduced the number of roots to be found from 5-7 to 4-5.
- Increased the game time from 20 sec to 25 sec.
- Removed the moving animation of the board at the start of the mini-game.
- Added the feature that allows you to start the mini-game immediately by pressing a key while the correct picture is displayed.
- Changed so that if all the roots are exposed, you will succeed regardless of whether other soil is dug up.
Lumbering - Increased the game time from 10 sec to 15 sec.
- Increased the speed at which the gauge fills from 1.5 sec to 2.0 sec.
Mining - Increased the game time from 15 sec to 20 sec.
Skinning - Changed the speed at which the tanning knife falls when no key is pressed. 
Butchering - Increased the game time from 15 sec to 20 sec.
- Increased the time it takes for the gauge to fill from 2.0 sec to 3.0 sec.
- Changed the number of correct pictures (meat pictures) to always be 3.
- Changed to always have one picture attached when creating a correct picture.
Fluid Collecting - Increased the time it takes for the gauge to fill from 1.2 sec to 1.8 sec.
- When you get it perfect, the gauge fills by 40%, and when you get it good, the gauge fills by 30%.

Great Ocean

Many captains are completing daily quests in Oquilla's Eye to obtain materials for building their very own carrack, but they were slightly difficult for new and upcoming captains to manage on their own. So we've added the Young Sea Monster Habitat and decreased the HP of sea monsters to help rookie captains complete related quests even when doing them alone.

We've changed the rewards for defeating large sea monsters from carrack materials to those more useful and added weekly quests on top of the daily quests so that you can obtain more rewards on a weekly basis. We've also added titles for defeating sea monsters, which could serve as an extra goal for sailing out to the great ocean.

We've issued a new Oquilla Coin with fewer coins required to exchange with various items. This should shorten the period required to gather materials.
Also, you can exchange the coins for items such as Luminous Cobalt Ingot, Great Ocean Dark Iron, which you cannot obtain from daily quests.

The number of exchanges required to unlock Brilliant Rock Salt Ingot and Brilliant Pearl Shard have also been greatly reduced, allowing for a much more pleasant process of gathering materials for a carrack.

Beginner captains also needed Sea Monster's Ooze to build Epheria Caravel/Galleass from Sailboat/Frigate, but it was difficult for them to catch up to fast moving sea monsters. To mitigate this, we've added Diseased Hekaru, which does not move about as much. We hope this helps you to better gather Sea Monster Ooze's and fulfill your dreams of sailing the great ocean.

Oquilla Coin

Black Shrine

  • Improved the bosses in the Black Shrine as follows.

Gumiho - Consolidated The number of hits in Gumiho's attack to 25-50% of the original. With the change, you may take more damage when hit by an attack than before.
 - Fixed the issue where hit detection timing was abnormal for certain attacks.
 - Adjusted the attack area of certain attacks to match the effects more accurately.
 - Removed the last hit of some attacks.
Oduksini - Consolidated the number of hits in Oduksini's attack to 25-50% of the original. With the change, you may take more damage when hit by an attack than before.
- Fixed the issue where hit detection timing was abnormal for certain attacks.
- Adjusted the attack area of certain attacks to match the effects more accurately.
- Adjusted the timing so that the AoE now appears slightly after the Tiger Changui's death.
- Reduced the attack area of the AoE upon the Tiger Changui's death.
Mudang Wraith - Consolidated the number of hits in the attacks of Bari and its summons, excluding some attacks, to 33-66% of the original. With the change, you may take more damage when hit by an attack than before.
 - Fixed the issue where hit detection timing was abnormal for certain attacks of Bari and its summons.
 - Adjusted the attack area of certain attacks of Bari and its summons to match the effects more accurately.
 - Removed the last hit of some attacks of Bari and its summons.
Imoogi - Adjusted Imoogi's attack after gathering energy in the stone lantern to only deal additional guard damage near the stone lantern.
- Changed the left, center, and right hits of Imoogi's breath attack to a single hit, and the total damage has been decreased by 10%.
- Changed the number of hits in Imoogi's consecutive biting attack to a single hit, and the total damage has been decreased by 10%. However, the damage when its body passes through after the biting attack has not changed.
- Decreased the attack area when Imoogi charges by 12%.
Golden Pig King - Fixed the issue where the Golden Pig King would stop attacking and perform a different attack when close to the target during certain attacks.
Sangoon - Consolidated the number of hits for Sangoon, excluding some fatal attacks.
- Changed Sangoon's damage to 20-35% of the original, excluding some fatal attacks.
- Adjusted the attack area of Sangoon's forefoot attack to match the effect.
  • Changed the objective of "Herald's Journal - Volume 2 Chapter 1" in the Old Moon Logs bookshelf: Catching blue grade fish x2 → x1.


Red Battlefield

  • Improved to reassign you to the same team upon re-entering the Red Battlefield after exiting.
  • Upon first entering the Red Battlefield, teams are determined based on the combined AP and DP of both teams.

  • Improved the descriptions for the following items by adding details on enhancement materials.
    • Loggia and Dostter Gathering Tools

Shell Belle (Wipeout)

  • Added Shell Belle Armor (Wipeout).
    • Changed so that Tranan Underfoe, blacksmith of Velia, can exchange Shell Belle Armor or Shell Belle Armor (Shucked) for Shell Belle Armor (Wipeout).
    • You can now freely exchange the three types of Shell Belle Armor with Tranan Underfoe.

Crypt of Resting Thoughts

Previously, the Crypt of Resting Thoughts, unlike other Monster Zones in Black Desert, required high Accuracy, compelling Adventurers to either choose characters with high Accuracy or make additional preparations. With the latest update, we've made it more accessible for PvE, even for those with lower Accuracy, by leveraging Skill Add-ons and Crystals that increase Accuracy. In doing so, we've reduced the monsters' Evasion and appropriately increased their HP, enabling various classes to participate in PvE. Beyond just balancing, we've also added more monsters to improve the chances of acquiring loot.
  • Reduced Evasion of monsters by -16.4%.
  • Increased HP of monsters by +24%.
  • Added monsters to certain locations.
  • Adjusted the placement of some monsters.
  • Changed the crowd control effects of the below monsters to either Stun or Stiffen.
