Artifacts and Lightstones
Artifacts and Lightstones offer a fresh approach to equipment, moving beyond traditional AP or DP stats. Unlike the pre-existing gear, artifacts and lightstones are designed to give Adventurers more choices that synergizes better with their class and playstyle. Artifacts have two lightstone-only slots, and when a certain combination of three or four lightstones is infused into those slots, an additional combination effect will be applied. It is similar to the current combined magic crystals like the Hoom crystals. There is a wide variety of combination effects to choose from, so there most likely will be something for everyone.


However, the effects of the combined magic crystals were fixed. Lightstones, on the other hand, provide different effects depending on the combinations. Additionally, lightstones can be safely removed using Silver (via a vendor-bought item) which will make them much easier to experiment with compared to crystals.


While you can find complete artifacts in monster zones, most Lightstones require a touch of alchemy to unlock their full potential. The item “Imperfect Lightstones” can be obtained as loot from defeating monsters and as rewards for various content. Then, the imperfect lightstones will need to be purified with Alchemy to uncover exactly which lightstone you've obtained. Alternatively, you can pay Silver to the town Alchemist (like Dalishain) to purify your "Imperfect Lightstones". However, this will be more expensive.

※ Note: Artifacts cannot be registered on the Central Market. However, “Imperfect Lightstones,” “Lightstones,” and “Purified Lightstones” all can be registered on the Central Market.

 

Artifacts

  • Added the new equipment type items "Artifacts".
    • There are a variety of artifacts and each of them have their own effects. Artifacts can be infused with lightstones to provide the character with even more effects.
    • Artifacts cannot be registered on the Central Market.
    • Artifacts can be divided into four major types of effects. Effect of the artifact will differ depending on its type.

Artifact Equipment Slots

  • Added 2 slots to the Equipment UI where artifacts can be equipped.
    • Artifacts can be equipped by selecting them in your Inventory. Select the "View Details" button to see the effects of your currently equipped artifacts.

 

How to Obtain Artifacts

  • Artifacts can be obtained from quests, defeating monsters, Dark Rifts, World Bosses, Boss Summon Scrolls, Guild Raids, Ancient Weapons in Season Servers, and various content.

 

 

Transforming Artifacts

  • Added methods of transforming artifacts into "Purified Lightstones."
    • Use a Purified Lightstone in your Inventory to get a lightstone according to a set probability.

Lightstones

  • Added the new "Lightstone" item that can be infused into artifacts to provide additional effects.
  • You can get the effect of a lightstone by infusing it into your artifacts. When the lightstones infused into your artifacts match a certain combination, then you will also get the additional combination effect.
  • Lighstones, imperfect lightstones, and purified lightstones can be registered on the Central Market.
  • Purified Lightstones have a max purchase or pre-order of up to 10 at once. If the price of the Lightstone on the Central Market is less than 20 million Silver and the listed quantity for sale is over 1,000, up to 500 can be purchased at once.
  • Lightstones can be divided into four major types of effects. The effect of the lighstone will differ depending on its type.

How to Obtain Lightstones

  • Lightstones can be obtained by performing Alchemy with "Imperfect Lightstones" obtained through quests, Dark Rifts, World Bosses, Boss Summon Scrolls, Guild Raids, Black Shrine Boss Blitz Rewards, Ancient Weapons in Season Servers, and various other content.
    • "Imperfect Lightstones" can be obtained from quests, defeating monsters, Dark Rifts, World Bosses, Boss Summon Scrolls, Guild Raids, or through various Life Skill content like Gathering.
    • For more details on how to obtain imperfect lightstones, go to [Adventurer's Guide > Artifact/Lightstone > Imperfect Lightstones].
    • When Imperfect Lightstones are transformed into lightstones, they transform into a specific type of "Purified Lightstone" with their own effects according to a set probability.
1. Find Dalishain in any city or town to transform your imperfect lightstones.
2. Install an alchemy tool in your residence and perform alchemy with your imperfect lightstones. (Requires Alchemy Guru 1 or higher)
※ When you perform the alchemy yourself, there is a low chance that you can get an additional "purified lightstone" of the same type.
- You will need to open the purified lighstone to get one of the lightstones of the related type.
    • You can perform alchemy via an alchemy tool installed in your residence by using the following materials (must be Alchemy Guru 1 or higher):

Infusing, Extracting, and Removing Lightstones

  • Lightstones can be infused from the window that opens when selecting a lightstone in your Inventory or by going to Menu > Character > Infusion.



  • The "Lightstone Extraction Tool" item is required to extract a lightstone that was infused into an artifact.
    • Lightstone Extraction Tool is sold by blacksmith NPCs in each of the major cities and towns for 10,000,000 Silver.
  • Lightstones infused into artifacts can be removed by pressing on them in the Infusion UI.
    • In this case, the lightstone will be destroyed.
  • Lightstones infused into artifacts do not get destroyed upon the death of your character.
    • However, the infused lightstones can be destroyed upon character death if the character has negative karma.
  • Artifacts and lightstones infused into artifacts can be shared with another character via Item Copy.
    • You do not need to pay more to use Item Copy on artifacts and their lightstones, like it is with defense gear.
    • However, the copied equipment (artifacts) can be destroyed upon character death if the character has negative karma, like other gear.
  • You cannot extract any infused lightstones on artifacts copied via the item copy function. You can only either remove or destroy them.

 

 

Lightstone Combination Effects

  • When infusing a total of three or four lightstones to two artifacts, according to the fixed combinations, you can get special additional effects.
    • Check out all the lightstone combination effects from the [Lightstone Combinations] Adventurer's Guide.
    • Combination effects do not stack.

 

Lightstone Purification

  • Interact with the Wandering Alchemist Dalishain to purify Imperfect Lightstones of Earth/Wind/Fire/Flora.
    • You can press to register or purify the chosen Imperfect Lightstones from your inventory.
    • The Imperfect Lightstones are purified the same way as before. It will cost 20,000,000 Silver to purify one lightstone.

 

 

Lightstone Exchange

  • Interact with the Wandering Alchemist Dalishain to exchange up to 30 lightstones at once.
    • You can press to register or exchange the Imperfect Lightstones you want to exchange in your inventory.
    • You can exchange up to 30 lightstones by registering the lightstones in your inventory using the "Place All" feature.

 

  • The Black Spirit has prepared a surprise gift for you, with the discovery of lightstones and artifacts that contain a variety of mystical abilities in the world of Black Desert. Talk to the Black Spirit to receive your reward after proceeding with the following main quests and completing the quest objectives.

Artifact / Lightstone Inventory

Up to 30 different types of Artifacts can now be stored, and Lightstones are organized similarly to the palette function, where all stored Lightstones are displayed and stacked.


Also, Artifact Inventory is Family-based. Once placed, all characters in the Family can manage it, but when equipping or removing stored Artifacts or Lightstones, they must be first moved from Artifact Inventory to your Inventory.


This update was carried out to offer adventurers more diverse Artifact and Lightstone settings.


In the Artifact Inventory you can customize your presets through "Edit Presets" and you can conveniently equip/manage the set Artifacts or preset with the "Equip" button.


As Artifact Inventory is shared on a Family basis, using the Preset function with multiple characters is now more convenient.

 
  • Added an artifact inventory which allows you to store artifacts and lightstones separately from your regular inventory.
    • The artifact inventory applies to your entire Family.
    • You can use it via the "Artifact Inventory" button on the bottom of the Inventory UI.
    • The same items will be stacked and take up a single slot, which will enable you to easily check the quantities of a single type of item.
    • Small icons for lightstones will be displayed so you can get an idea of the current infused artifacts in the inventory without having to check the tooltips.
    • You can use the filter on the bottom to look for fire, earth, wind, and special lightstones held in the inventory.
    • Artifact Inventory can be expanded up to 60 slots with an Artifact Inventory Expansion Coupon.

 

  • When transferring Artifacts from Artifact Inventory to the character's Inventory, you can move a max of 20 at once.

 

  • Added the Artifact Preset function.
    • You can equip and manage designated artifacts using the preset function.
    • Select the "Edit Preset" button in the Artifact Inventory to save an artifact preset.
    • You can save up to 10 presets.
    • You can change the names of the presets when you edit a preset.
    • You can see what kind of lightstone combination effect you will get with the artifacts via the "View Effects" button.
    • You can equip the preset artifacts by selecting the "Equip" button.
      • When you equip artifacts in a preset, then the artifacts you already had equipped will automatically be moved to your Artifact Inventory.
      • You must have at least 2 slots available in your Inventory to equip artifact presets.
    • The icon of artifacts that are not currently in your Artifact Inventory will be marked red.

Warrior
  • Changed the following for Warrior.

    • Changed the remaining hits of Counter (I to Absolute) activated by uppercut to trigger Air Attack if the first hit incurs Floating.
      • This change also applies when using Force Slash.
    • Unified the attack area applied when using Counter (III to Absolute) after learning Force Slash to the widest area.
      • Accordingly, Floating is only applied once when activating Counter (III to Absolute) with Force Slash.
    • Removed the fixed damage of Piercing Spear (I to Absolute) and adjusted the number of hits and damage.
    • Fixed the issue where Stiffness was applied twice in a specific attack area of Piercing Spear (I to Absolute).
    • Changed All Accuracy
    • Accuracy Rate -10% for 10 sec to Melee DP -10 for 10 sec on Grapple with Prime: Take Down.
