Hello Adventurers,

We're informing you of the latest update applied after the scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, Apr 17.

Today's update brings reducing the refresh cooldown for barter, increasing opportunities to obtain upgrade materials, simplifying quest objectives, easening the burden of land-based materials, 1st Black Stone Simplification, Manage Currency UI update, and more.

Barter. This trade of goods is another area of Life Skill that arrived with the dawn of the Great Expedition. To this day, many adventurers, like the captains at the Dancing Marlin Tavern, continue to cherish the vast expanses of Black Desert's Great Ocean.
 
Navigating the boundless ocean aboard a grand ship is a dream for many of you adventurers. We understand that the journey to upgrade to a Carrack through various large ships can be a bit daunting. That's why in today's update, we've eased the barter process, streamlined quest progression, and simplified item acquisition to make the ocean more accessible and enjoyable for all.
 
Key updates include reducing the refresh cooldown for barter, increasing opportunities to obtain upgrade materials, simplifying quest objectives, and lessening the burden of land-based materials.

Barter (Trade Exchange)

Barter Refresh Cooldown

The waiting time to refresh the barter item list has been reduced.
Accordingly, the cooldown of the Crow's Trade Voucher, which can increase parley, has also been reduced.
  • Adjusted the waiting time to refresh the barter list from 4 hours to 2 hours.
 
  • Adjusted the cooldown of the Crow's Trade Voucher from 4 hours to 2 hours, allowing for a quicker recovery of parley following the reduced refresh time for the barter list.
 

Material Exchange (Refresh Points, Exchange Times)

The Ship Material Refresh, which is used when ship upgrade materials are needed, has seen a decrease in consumed points.
Moreover, the number of exchanges per item on each island has increased, allowing you to obtain more material items with less burden.

Black Shrine Boss Blitz Teleport

Today's update introduces a new feature allowing immediate access to the Boss Blitz location. The Dokkebi Princess, who you encountered in Donghae Province, will help with this.
Now, by selecting the desired difficulty level in the Black Shrine UI, you can immediately enter the battle. We hope this update enhances your Black Shrine experience and encourages more of you to take on the challenge of the Black Shrine bosses.
  • Added a feature that allows you to teleport immediately to a Black Shrine Boss Blitz location.
    • The Dokkebi Princess has learnt a special spell for any travelers challenging the Black Shrine.
    • You can move to each boss location via the "Start Boss Blitz" button, and after combat ends, you will be returned to your original location.
      • The teleport function cannot be used in the Pit of the Undying.
 

  • Added Dokkebi Princess' guide to the Black Shrine UI, which informs about Aura management and moving to the Boss Blitz location.

In the past, during Cooking or Alchemy, it was all too easy to mix up ingredients or accidentally use too much, leaving you in a bind when everything was used up. Now, improvements have been made so that your ingredients won't be wasted in such mistakes.

  • Improved the system that consumes ingredients when the type or quantity of ingredients is insufficient during cooking or alchemy at your residence as follows.

  • Reduced the minigame duration for taming a wild horse from 11 sec to 6 sec, allowing you to tame faster than before.

1st Black Stone Simplification

In today's update, we've streamlined the Black Stones, just as we promised. Previously, different Black Stones were used depending on the type of weapon or armor. Now, we've consolidated them into a single type for each category. Given that Black Stones have been a staple in Black Desert and a constant companion to our adventurers, we're ensuring they remain useful across all game aspects.
 
Today's update is the first phase of this simplification, focusing on usage, crafting recipes, and exchange formulas. In the next phase, we'll streamline the methods for acquiring these items, encompassing various game content, quests, login rewards, boxes, and packages.
 
As part of this first phase, we've unified the enhancement materials that were previously divided between weapons and armor. Until the second phase of simplification is implemented, you can exchange any existing armor enhancement Black Stones you obtain via the Black Spirit.
 
Once all these simplifications are complete, we'll also update the names of the enhancement materials to reflect these changes.

No More Weapon/Armor Distinction for Enhancement Materials

  • Simplified the Black Stone (Weapon/Armor), Sharp/Hard Black Crystal Shard, Concentrated Magical Black Stone (Weapon/Armor).
    • The Enhancement materials that were used differently depending on the type of item have been improved to be used without distinction of type.
      • Black Stone (Weapon), Black Stone (Armor) → Black Stone (Weapon)
      • Sharp Black Crystal Shard, Hard Black Crystal Shard → Sharp Black Crystal Shard

Enhancement Materials Changes

  • Changed so that defense gear and ship equipments, which could be enhanced with Black Stone (Armor) and Concentrated Magical Black Stone (Armor), can now be enhanced with Black Stone (Weapon) and Concentrated Magical Black Stone (Weapon).
  • Changed the max price of each item in the Central Market accordingly.
 
  • Consolidated Black Stones that can be used for additional enhancement chance in the Enhancement window, following the simplification of existing Black Stones (Weapons/Armor).
 

Enhancement Chance for Defense Gear +6 to +7

  • Adjusted the max price of the Black Stone (Weapon) as all defense gear can now be enhanced with Black Stone (Weapon) instead of Black Stone (Armor). Additionally, the enhancement success rate for +6 to +7 has been changed to 100%.
 

Changes Regarding Unused Items

  • Changed so that the Black Stone (Armor), Hard Black Crystal Shard, and Concentrated Magical Black Stone (Armor), which are no longer used for enhancement but for exchange to be unlistable on the Central Market.
 
  • Changed the alchemy recipe for the Purified Lightstone to not utilize Black Stone (Armor).
    • The alchemy recipe using Black Stone (Weapon) can be used as before.
 
  • Changed the Manage Currency UI to prevent the exchange for Black Stone (Armor) and Hard Black Crystal Shard with the Hunter's Seal.

  • Fixed the below for the Bamboo Legion Lieutenant Boss Blitz in the Black Shrine:
    •  Fixed so that if the Bamboo Legion Lieutenant leaves the combat zone, it will return to its original spawn location. (However, HP does not recover.)
    • Fixed so that if you leave the combat zone, all monsters within the combat zone will disappear.
      • When you enter the combat zone, the battle will start again.
    • Fixed so that a warning message is displayed before you leave the combat zone.

UI

Manage Currency UI (Seals)

A Manage Currency UI has been added where you can store and exchange seals in one place.

Seals obtained through worker tasks, Imperial Delivery, Node/Conquest War, Coelacanths caught through fishing, and other similar items will now be stored in the UI, not in your inventory or storage.

With this, you no longer need to interact with NPCs located in various places for related quests or exchanges and can now exchange them through this UI. 
Many of you have collected various types of seals while adventuring over a long time, so we expect this change will provide improved convenience.

However, it may get confusing to have all the seals we've had in the game so far in one place, 
so we have decided for the UI to only store often used seals and maintain others to be used via search or sorting by category.

Seals from ended events or those that are no longer used will be consolidated into [Event] Reward Seals to give them a chance to be used.

  • Added a UI to manage and exchange various seals.
    • Various types of seals are now stored in this UI instead of the inventory or storage.
    • Please check the Manage Currency UI to see which seals are stored there.
    • You can use the search in the UI to find items you can obtain from exchanging certain seals.
      • You can also search for items by category.

For Adventurers enjoying the Shai class, it was inconvenient to always have to use the Awakening Weapon Exchange Coupon or Marni's Processed Fuel to convert to another class. With this update, if a Shai attempts Item Copy to another class, their Awakening weapon will now be changed to one suitable for the transfer character's class.

  • Improved the Item Copy process for the Shai class where they had to use the Awakening Weapon Exchange Coupon or Marni's Processed Fuel.
    • Improved the process for the Shai class to select and copy their awakening weapon to the tagged character. 

 

  • Fixed so that clicking the "Align Left" or "Align Right" button in the menu would immediately show the change.
    • Changed system messaged displayed when using the "Align Left" or "Align Right" button in the main menu.
  • Changed the description of the Swimwear Settings button in the Equipment window to include a notice that it will be reset when the item is replaced.
  • Fixed the issue where the "My Journal" and "Guild Journal" for months with no records were not functioning properly.
    • When selecting a month with no records, a description will now be displayed.




System
  • Improved the use of Hide Cape (hidden state) to be visible to other adventurers after a certain period of time.
    • Improved the feature so that adventurers don't have to move and return to check the appearance of other adventurers who have turned on the Hide Cape feature.
    • Improved the tooltip of the Hide Cape button.
  • Fixed the Pearl Shop so that when a new/returning adventurer opens it, they are directed to the exclusive product tab for new/returning adventurers.

  • Fixed the character's hair to appear more natural when the camera faces the water while the character is underwater.
