The pre-season for the Arena of Solare has begun.


The Arena of Solare, first introduced in our roadmap, is finally making its way to console adventurers with the launch of the pre-season.

This new 3v3 PvP mode is all about skill—everyone competes on a level playing field, so gear differences won’t hold you back.

While our commentary video referred to this as Season 1, we're starting with a pre-season to give everyone time to get comfortable with the new system and to take the pressure off ranked competition from the start.

We invite you to dive in and try out the Arena of Solare at your own pace during the pre-season.

During this time, we’ll be closely monitoring stability and reviewing your feedback to ensure the regular season launches in the best possible shape.
  • The pre-season for the Arena of Solare has begun.
    • The Arena of Solare is a 3 vs 3 match-type PvP content that you can enjoy without having to worry about differences in gear specs.
    • You can participate in the Arena of Solare from Lv. 60 with a character who has completed the Succession/Awakening questline. (Unavailable for Trial/Season Characters)
    • The Arena of Solare requires you to use its designated gear.
    • Your points will go up or down depending on your performance in Arena of Solare matches, and you'll earn Seals of Solare based on your points.
    • Go to Menu - War - Arena of Solare to find the "Find Ranked/Practice Match," "Set Gear," and "History" options.

  • Ranked Match
    • Your Solare rank points will go up or down based on your match results.
    • After each match, you'll earn a "Seal of Solare," which can be exchanged for various in-game items.
    • Ranked Matches are only available during specific hours.
      • Each team in Ranked Matches can only have one of each class.
 
  • Practice Match
    • In Practice Matches, you won't lose Solare rank points if you're defeated, so you can play without worrying about your rank.
    • Defensive effects on opponents are displayed, making combat more accessible. You can queue as a party of 2 or 3, allowing you to experience 3v3 PvP with guildmates or friends.
      • Practice Matches allow up to three of the same class on one team.
 
  • Practice Match Party Queue
    • You can queue for a Practice Match with up to three party members.
    • Only the party leader can start the queue, and all members must be on the same server.
    • Any party member can cancel matchmaking while in the queue.
    • While searching for a match, you can’t invite new members, change the party leader, or leave the party. If anyone changes servers, switches characters, tags a character, or disconnects, matchmaking will be canceled.
 
  • Custom Match
    • Arena of Solare’s Custom Match lets you set up matches with friends.
    • You can invite participants directly, assign teams, and start the match together.


How to Participate
  • You can participate in the Arena of Solare from Lv. 60 with a character who has completed their Succession/Awakening questline.
  • Press the "Find Ranked/Practice Match" button from the Arena of Solare menu for auto-matching.
  • You will automatically enter the battlefield if all 6 participants accept after matching is complete.
  • You can only start matching after equipping the exclusive gear.

Arena of Solare Exclusive Gear
  • To enter the Arena of Solare, you’ll need to equip the exclusive gear first.
  • Set up your gear by pressing the [Set Gear] button in the Arena of Solare menu.
  • You can also customize crystals for each gear piece.
 
  • Once your gear is ready, you can start matchmaking by selecting [Find Ranked Match] or [Find Practice Match] in the menu. Alternatively, invite friends for a custom match using [Custom Match].

Arena of Solare: Detailed Rules
  • In the Arena of Solare, not only will you be provided with exclusive gear, but you also cannot use potions, meals, elixirs, etc. Also, the effects of certain skills will be adjusted.
  • For the Arena of Solare matches, the team with the best 3 out of 5 will win. You'll get a maximum of 3 minutes per round.
  • The team with the higher total HP among the surviving members will win when the match ends.
  • If the total HP is the same, the team with a higher total damage wins.
  • The match will conclude in a tie if the total HP and total damage of both teams are the same.
  • The stats for the Arena of Solare exclusive gear will be applied instead of the stats of the gear currently equipped to your character.
  • You cannot use any type of potions. However, your character's default HP/MP/WP/SP recovery will greatly increase.
  • * The amount naturally recovered within the Arena of Solare will be similar to the recovery amount you get from using Ornette's or Odore's Spirit Essences with a Fairy that's acquired the skill "Miraculous Cheer V."
  • Using skills that recover HP within the Arena of Solare battlefield will recover only 30% of the amount normally recovered.
  • In the Arena of Solare, the Guard Gauge, a defensive feature of all classes, will be equalized across classes.
  • The AP, Damage Reduction, Accuracy, and Evasion stats will each be applied at 100% for all characters.
  • The remaining time for the effects of meals, elixirs, and perfumes will not be wasted. Their effects will instead be nullified and their time remaining paused while within the Arena of Solare if you used the items before entering. The effects will be applied again and the remaining time will resume being consumed upon returning to the previous location after the match's conclusion.
  • While in the arena, your character’s max HP will increase by 10,000, and their Critical Hit Rate and Attack/Casting/Movement Speed will be at Lv. 5.
  • Upon entering the battlefield, Black Spirit's Rage, HP, MP, SP, WP, cooldown, and other supplementary resources will all be recovered.
  • The cooldown for Emergency Escape will reset each round.
  • The "Elemental trace" buffs for skills, exclusive gear, and the battlefield will only be applied in the arena.
  • The Total Family Bonus from Adventure Logs will not be applied.

  • The Arena of Solare offers four unique battlefields: Ruins of Tzol, Olun's Valley, Godu Village, and Kermelun Wilds.
    When you join a match, you'll be randomly assigned to one of these locations.

◆ Elemental Traces
Elemental traces can be found throughout the battlefield. Destroying them grants special effects based on their element.

Flora's Breath: Restores HP.
Wind's Song: Attack/Casting/Movement Speed +25% for 30 seconds
 
  • Elemental Traces (Water's Chill / Flora's Breath / Fire's Warmth / Wind's Song)
    • Elemental traces appear throughout the battlefield. Destroying them grants you effects based on their element.
    • If party members are nearby, they’ll receive the elemental effects as well. (excluding Flora's Breath & Wind's Song).
    • When an adventurer picks up an elemental trace, a buff icon will appear above their character during the match.

  • - Water's Chill: All DP increase for 20 sec


  • - Fire's Warmth: All AP +30 for 20 sec

(Ranked Exclusive) Arena of Solare Placement Matches / Match Points & Emblems
Placement Matches
  • When you start a new Arena of Solare season, you’ll begin with placement matches.
  • Your starting score for placement matches depends on your rank from the previous season.
  • If you haven’t participated in a previous Arena of Solare season, your starting score will be 700 points.
  • Each Family will play a total of 10 placement matches. For each win during placement, you’ll earn 2.4 times the normal victory points.
  • During placement matches, you won’t lose points for defeats, but penalties for leaving a match still apply as usual.
 
Match Points & Emblems
  • Points will be awarded or deducted according to the results of the match, and you will be awarded an Emblem of Solare based on your point bracket.

  • You can earn more points the longer you maintain a winning streak.
    • +4 points per win from a 3-win streak.
    • +7 points per win starting from a 6-win streak.
    • +13 points per win starting from a 11-win streak.

Dormancy Penalty (Point Deduction)
  • Adventurers who are in the Solare Incarnate, Radiant Spear, and Twilight Spear brackets will start losing points based on their rank, if they do not participate in matches for a certain period.
  • How many days you can rest before losing points depends on the day of the week. If you meet any of the penalty criteria listed below during the Arena of Solare ranking calculation times, a dormancy penalty will be applied.

* The criterion for having participated in a match is not the time you enter the battlefield, but when the result is decided and your score is updated.
Therefore, if you finish a match at 23:59 and another at 00:01 the next day, the penalty calculation will treat them as different days.

* Solare Incarnate, Radiant Spear

  • Based on the day of your last match, starting from the second day of inactivity, during the ranking calculation time:
  • Solare Incarnate : Lose 50 points per day / Radiant Spear: Lose 40 points per day
    • Dormancy penalties will apply as in the following example (ASIA):
      • 1. The last ranked match ends on Monday (23:30).
      • 2. No ranked matches are played during the Tuesday (00:00 - 01:00) ranked match period.
      • 3. No ranked matches are played during the Tuesday (17:00 - 23:59) and Wednesday (00:00 - 01:00) ranked match periods.
      • 4. At the ranking calculation time on Wednesday (02:00), a dormancy penalty is applied and points are deducted.

 

Twilight Spear

  • Based on the day of your last match, starting from the third day of inactivity, during the ranking calculation time:Twilight Spear: Lose 30 points per day
    • Dormancy penalties will apply as in the following example (ASIA):
      • 1. The last ranked match ends on Monday (23:30).
      • 2. No ranked matches are played during the Tuesday (00:00 - 01:00) ranked match period.
      • 3. No ranked matches are played during the Tuesday (17:00 - 23:59) and Wednesday (00:00 - 01:00) ranked match periods.
      • 4. No ranked matches are played during the Wednesday (17:00 - 23:59) and Thursday (00:00 - 01:00) ranked match periods.
      • 5. At the ranking calculation time on Wednesday (02:00), a dormancy penalty is applied and points are deducted.

Deserter Penalty (Point Deduction) 
  • If you leave in the middle of a match, you can use the reconnect window to return to the battlefield before the match ends.
    • If you don’t return before the match ends, penalty points will be deducted.

Leave Scenarios

  • Did not re-enter the match: Deserter penalty applied
  • Re-entered but lost: Loss points applied
  • Re-entered and won: Victory points applied

  • Deserter Penalty 1: Additional penalty points deducted after match ends
  • Deserter Penalty 2: Additional wait time before you can start your next match



Abyss One: The Magnus

The Magnus and the Abyssal Well have finally arrived in Black Desert Console.

Before The Magnus was introduced, adventurers could unlock features like cross-region storage access, Abyssal Legacy skills, and PEN (V) Boss Defense Gear by completing the [The Magnus] Revelations quest. Now, with the arrival of the Abyssal Well, built upon The Magnus’ structure, you can instantly travel between major cities.

Even better, on console, you can use city-to-city teleportation right away—no need to complete the full Magnus main questline first.

Normally, you would have to complete The Magnus main questline in each city to activate its Abyssal Well. But since you've been waiting patiently, if you've already finished the [The Magnus] Revelations quest, you can unlock the Abyssal Well simply by speaking to the Black Spirit. We hope this makes your journey a little more convenient.

Of course, The Magnus main questline is also coming with this update. If you’re eager to dig deeper, you can team up with Wuju, who's in charge of The Magnus, to uncover and solve the mysteries lurking in the Abyss.

As you progress through the quests, overcoming trials in each Abyss and uncovering hidden stories, you’ll discover a new layer of excitement in exploration and adventure.

For those who want the full experience, we encourage you to dive into The Magnus main questline and discover its unique charm for yourself.
  •  "Abyss One: The Magnus" has been revealed through rifts appearing throughout the world of Black Desert.

Main Questline
  • Added a main questline where you can explore the "Abyss One: The Magnus" story.
    • This quest can be accepted with a character that has completed the following quests (Black Spirit - Main Quest):
      • Complete "[Balenos] Farewell, Grusha," "Embarking on an Adventure," or "Big Fish in a Small Pond" from the Balenos main questline.
      • Complete "[Special Growth] Fughar's Memorandum - Chapter 1" during the Simplified questline.
      • Complete "[Everfrost] Beyond the Doors of Alyaelli" from the Mountain of Eternal Winter main questline.
      • Your character needs to be located in Balenos.
    • There are some parts of "Abyss One: The Magnus" that are available after completing the Serendia and Calpheon main questlines.
 

A Powerful Aura...

After a long adventure in Balenos, you reunite with Eileen and Emma Bartali, with whom you haven't spoken in a while, in Velia. You chat with them for old times' sake. Suddenly, you are drawn by a powerful aura of something within the rift.
 

 

 

Custodian of The Magnus

After speaking with the Black Spirit, you fall through a rift.
As you step into the world of The Magnus, you meet Wuju, the custodian of The Magnus.
 
 
Within the world of The Magnus, the birthplace of all creation, you begin investigating its abyssal anomalies with Wuju, the custodian of The Magnus. Whom will you befriend? Who is the mastermind behind the anomalies?
All that and more will be revealed as you progress through the storyline.
 
※ You cannot enter Abyss One: The Magnus under the following circumstances:

  • Within the world of The Magnus, there are "abyssal pockets," each with their own spacetime.
    • Each of these abyssal pockets that branch off from The Magnus holds their own trials.
    • Proceed through the Abyss One main questline by entering each abyssal pocket and overcoming specific trials.
※ You will automatically leave an abyssal pocket if you spend more than 1 hour inside.
※ There is a 1-minute wait time before you can re-attempt an abyssal pocket.

Exclusive Gear
  • In the world of Magnus, you will not use equipment from the Black Desert World, but rather equipment exclusive to Abyss One instead.
 


Abyssal Well, Cross-Region Storage Access, Abyssal Legacy skill, and PEN (V) Boss Defense Gear
  • You can unlock and use these features and rewards even if you haven't finished The Magnus main questline, as long as you complete the [The Magnus] Revelations quest.
    • Complete the [A Fresh Adventure] In Search of Lost Memories quest to accept the [The Magnus] Revelations quest.
    • Go to Adventurer’s Guide
  • To travel via the Abyssal Well, complete [The Magnus] Revelations and then speak to the Black Spirit to acquire the necessary knowledge.
    • If you’ve already finished [The Magnus] Revelations, talk to the Black Spirit to start using the Abyssal Well right away.
    • To use the Abyssal Well in the Land of the Morning Light - Seoul, you’ll need to have [Knowledge] Seoul.
      • This is a geographic knowledge, and you’ll automatically acquire it when you enter the Land of the Morning Light - Seoul with your character.

Main Questline Reward

  • You will obtain various rewards upon completing the Abyss One: The Magnus main questline.
    • Fast travel between major cities using The Magnus (Abyssal Well) system
      • Each trip costs 5,000,000 Silver.
      • Set your destination via the map when interacting with the Abyssal Well.
      • After choosing your destination, the Abyssal Veins activate and your selected territory is marked. Confirm your choice and jump into the well to travel.
      • You can use the activated Abyssal Veins at any time, even if you don’t travel immediately.
      • You cannot set your current territory as a destination.
      • You can use the well even while in a party/platoon. However, you must leave the party/platoon to enter Abyss One: The Magnus.
      • Once all Abyssal Wells are unlocked, you can locate them using the Find NPC feature.
      • On the World Map, press □/X on the Abyssal Well icon to navigate to its location.
      • To use the Abyssal Well in the Land of the Morning Light, you must complete [The Magnus] Revelations.
    • Cross-Region Storage Access
      • Due to certain major cities now being connected through The Magnus, you can now move and store items to storage in other regions.
      • You can move and store items from your inventory to storage in different regions through the storage keeper NPC as you proceed with the main questline.
      • You can also move and store items from your inventory to storage in different regions through a storage maid as you proceed with the main questline.
      • Note: The city/town’s map must be revealed to use this feature.
    • Abyssal Legacy Skill
      • After you finish the main questline and all the related quests, you'll receive a new revelation from The Magnus, unlocking a new skill for your character.
      • Family Quest: [The Magnus] Box from the Abyss → [The Magnus] Abyssal Legacy → [The Magnus] Revelations
      • Proceed with "[The Magnus] Revelations" quest available once per character
        ※ Upon completing [The Magnus] Revelations quest, all characters in your Family will be able to proceed with "[The Magnus] Abyssal Revelation" quest to learn their new skill, respectively.
      • Upon completing "[The Magnus] Abyssal Revelation," you'll obtain [Secret Book] Abyssal Legacy x1 and [Event] Armstrong's Skill Guide (1 Day) x1.
      • If you lose the secret book item, as long as your character has completed "[The Magnus] Revelations" quest, you can get another one by talking to Cruhorn Wyrmsbane.

  • As you progress through the story of the Abyss One: The Magnus main questline, you'll be able to obtain various items (once per Family).
  • Each time you learn the "Abyssal Veins" knowledge of each region during The Magnus main questline, you'll be able to accept a quest that grants the rewards below by talking to the Black Spirit.
  • To complete each quest objective, travel to the Black Desert world from The Magnus and speak with the nearby Mysterious Traveler to receive your rewards.

Tempered by Suffering - WUKONG

  • Pole-wielder, Nimbus-rider, the Fighting Buddha's Heir, Wukong, has arrived.
    • Wukong's Rabam and Abyssal Legacy skills will be added at a later date.
  • Upon reaching Lv. 56, you can accept the "[Wukong Ascension] Lost Memories" quest to proceed with Wukong's Ascension questline.
    • Complete the Ascension questline, and you'll unlock all the remaining skills in the Awakening tab.
  • When Wukong uses main/awakening weapon skills, the following AP ratios are applied:
    • Main Weapon Skill: 100% of the main weapon's AP
    • Awakening (Ascension) Weapon Skill: 70% of the awakening weapon's AP and 30% of the main weapon's AP

 

  • With the release of the new class Wukong, the max number of character slots has been increased: 38 → 41 slots

Dehkia's Lantern

 

  • A new artifact, Dehkia’s Lantern, was discovered in the ancient stronghold, Atoraxxion, which was built to prevent the invasion of the Dark Invader. The first person to discover this artifact was Lafi Bedmountain of the Secret Guards. He named it Dehkia’s Lantern, speculating that it was an enhancement device for ancient weapons created by Atoraxxion’s founder, Dehkia, in preparation for the Black Spirit’s invasion. However, further investigation has revealed another secret, causing great concern. You can learn more during the quests to obtain Dehkia’s Lantern.
 
  • Monsters affected by Dehkia's Lanterned will be awakened into a state of chaos.
    • Dehkia's Lamp will awaken monsters within a range of 50.
    • While Dehkia's Lantern is lit, awakened monsters will continue to spawn even if you defeat them.
      • Awakened monsters will disappear when Dehkia's Lantern's durability is spent.
        • Awakened monsters that did not initially disappear will disappear after a certain period of time.

Go to Menu > Settings > Ring Menu Settings, then select "Unsummon Dehkia's Lantern" to remove Dehkia's Lantern. Last Updated: 9/5/2025 05:32 (UTC)

How to Use and Deactivate Dehkia's Lantern
  • Select Dehkia's Lantern from your inventory to use it.
    • Upon use, you will become temporarily invincible against monsters and awaken monsters within the set area.

 
  • Close the Dehkia's Lantern UI during use to deactivate it.
    • It has a 1 min cooldown after deactivation.
  • When Node War or Conquest War begins, the summoned Dehkia's Lantern will be deactivated.
  • Dehkia's Lantern can be used at the designated location.
    • To see where you can use it, check Menu > Adventure > Monster Zone Info.
 
How to Charge Dehkia's Lantern
  • Dehkia's Lantern has 300 durability and consumes 1 per minute.
  • Durability can be recharged with Dehkia's Light, 1 per light.
    • Dehkia's Lantern recharge UI can be opened with the button at the bottom of your inventory.

After the last update, Sage Awakening's performance has soared—smoother movement thanks to reduced Stamina consumption, a new defense effect added to Lightning Surge, and a shorter Divine Executioner cooldown.
Combined with its powerful AoE attacks, these tweaks made Sage Awakening much stronger.
To keep things balanced, we're slightly increasing Stamina costs so you'll need to manage your Stamina more carefully—without sacrificing fluid movement. We've also changed Lightning Prison's defense effect into a Forward Guard, so precise positioning is now key to landing its AoE safely.

MAEGU
Maegu Awakening can instantly dive in with Foxflare Charge, Hazy Path, and Foxflare Ambush for swift Air Attack assassinations. If you manage to escape after striking, Twirling Crane lets you recover HP quickly and leap back into the fight.

In other words, Maegu Awakening excels at hit-and-run tactics—and her overall performance was exceptionally strong. To keep her uniquely deadly without tipping into overpowered territory, we've adjusted her balance accordingly.

DOSA
Dosa Awakening leverages the Elements: Generate effect to both support allies and strike enemies, seamlessly shifting between melee and ranged combat. This versatility comes at a price—skills take slightly longer to activate. However, if you master timing and land your hits, you'll deal serious damage that makes up for the delay.

Previously, Dosa Awakening's ranged attacks were so strong that they could easily take down foes solo from a distance, even though the class is meant to support allies while attacking. To balance this, we've kept his damage intact but tweaked the debuff effects. Now, finishing off enemies from afar with ranged skills will require help from your allies.

Fall Detection for Movement Skills

  • Improved fall detection for movement skills when traversing sloped terrain, reducing interruptions caused by fall checks.
    • Now, your skills will continue more smoothly on gentle slopes, and fall detection will only trigger from slightly higher elevations.
    • The fall detection has been removed from certain skills, allowing them to continue from high places all the way to the ground.
      • However, landing after a fall still causes damage, and falling from great heights may result in death.

Magic Crystal Balance Adjustment

Damage Reduction stats for certain Magic Crystals will be adjusted.
Some of these crystals will now belong to the ""Increase Damage Reduction"" group, allowing you to equip up to two at once. For crystals designed with PvE in mind, their All Damage Reduction effect will be changed to a slightly stronger Monster Damage Reduction effect.
This change is intended to bring down PvP setups that were performing a bit too strongly. We'll continue to monitor balance closely after the update to ensure a fairer PvP environment.

With the recent updates, there's been more gear to enhance and new content to prepare for, and we understand how busy that has made our adventurers. The upcoming Edania update in November, in particular, can feel especially demanding as you gear up for the journey ahead.

On console, since Ator’s Shoes and Sovereign Weapons were only recently introduced, we understand the extra pressure this puts on your preparations for Edania.

To help ease that burden and give you more time to prepare comfortably, we'll be adding a Leveling Aid quest during the Sept 18 (Thu) maintenance. Through this quest, you'll be able to exchange your PEN (V) Tuvala Defense Gear for Silent Slumbering Origin Defense Gear.
