Updates [Update] 05/27 Patch Notes Part 1

Adventurers,

 

This update brings a whole host of changes to the PvE aspects of many classes in Black Desert. The update also brings an NPC search function, an optimization update for Node Wars and more! Check out the details below.  

 

Finding specific NPC’s has been a difficulty for some time. We have added an ‘NPC finder’ option that allows you to find specific NPC’s across the map. This could be NPC’s such as ‘Wacky Toshi’ who appears in multiple locations but can sometimes be difficult to track down. To access this function, you will need to add the ‘NPC Finder’ menu to a ring menu slot, and then select it. Once opened, you can select either a generic NPC (i.e Stable Keeper) or scroll down to the search function and type in the name of an NPC. This addition should make it easier to find NPC’s when you need to. 

 

 

The number of deliveries possible in one day with Imperial Delivery has been changed from 33% of your total contribution points to 50%. This will allow those who engage with the Imperial Delivery systems to fill more orders per day than previously.


As part of our continued efforts to improve performance, we have made a few changes that should alleviate some of the issues that occur when a large number of players are condensed into one place. This change is intended to help modes which have large groups of numbers, and we will be monitoring how these changes perform incredibly carefully.

We have also added another option that will allow adventurers to change characters to the basic appearance of that class in certain situations. To activate this option, you will need to go to settings>Performance and turn the option on. Note, this feature will work differently depending on the device's performance and the current situation. 

 

 

The target completion of certain quests has been moved from Schultz Guard to Sausan Garrison. This change is intended to make it slightly easier for weaker characters to be able to progress through quests. We have also modified multiple entries in the simple cooking menu so that incorrect entries are no longer visible.

Although not all of these are UI, they do relate to the User Experience (UX) and have been listed under this category.

Certain settings have been changed so that they will now upload onto the servers instead of saving solely to the local device storage. This should help correct the issue where only the last characters settings were saved when connecting from multiple devices. After the update, the settings should remain the same for all characters regardless of if you access on multiple devices.

We have also added an option to turn off notifications when items are picked up. This option will remove the notifications that show which items have been picked up by your pets. Although the notifications will not show, you can still see what was picked up in the system message tab, and items will continue to be added to your inventory. To activate this option, you will need to go to Settings>General Settings>Alert. 

 

Other UI Changes
Fixed an issue where the time remaining to switch back to a character after transporting it was not displayed correctly.
Fixed an issue where Alchemy Stone settings were reset upon reconnecting to the game.
Fixed an issue where interacting with the skill Instructor while on a mount other than horses/ donkeys would cause the UI to disappear.
Fixed an issue where the Dim Magical re-acquisition quests weren’t able to be obtained by Witches.
Improved the NPC conversation topics by abbreviating/shortening the dialogue options if they are too long.
Fixed the issue where the Inventory and Storage balance from NPC Repair menu > Equipment window overlapped with the relevant category's description text.

This update brings a large amount of balance changes that affect most of the classes. These changes are mostly focussed primarily on improving PvE for many of the classes. Check out how your class will be changed below.
